Who is Steve?
I grew up in Glasgow, Scotland. Nobody in my family had anything to do with real estate. I had no contacts here. No network. No blueprint. When I arrived in the US, I was in the automotive business but soon moved into real estate. I made the move when the real estate market was in institutional collapse. While most people were running from it, I ran toward it.
I spent the next several years managing the liquidation of over $2.1 billion in non-performing real estate assets for some of the largest lenders in the country. Not as an agent. As the person the institutions called when the assets were complex, the timelines were brutal, and the margin for error was zero. That work got noticed. John Assaraf brought me in as a consultant for Larry King Live. I also trained Forty-five investors who collectively netted $1.62 million in ninety days.
Then I did something that surprised people. I walked away from CA and moved to Miami in 2020. Not because it stopped working. Because I could see what was coming. Miami was about to become the private capital of the Americas. Citadel moved its headquarters here. So did Blackstone, Apollo, and hundreds of family offices and founders from New York, Chicago, and London.
The most significant private wealth migration of our generation landed here — and the people arriving were not looking for a listing agent. They were looking for someone who had already operated at their level.That is the gap I work in.
I don't compete for volume. I work with a very small number of clients at any one time. My value isn't MLS access — anyone can get that. My value is knowing which properties exist before they're listed, which sellers will move privately, and which introductions are worth having before a single document is signed.
